Live group scenario work with Kevin Polak. Family Constellation, somatic body intelligence, and movement therapy — in a circle where real transformation happens in real time.
k.polak (at) me.com What Is Group Work?
Kevin Polak is a choreographer, therapist, and educator who spent decades bridging Eastern and Western models of the self. His work draws from clinical psychology, movement therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and systemic family constellation — not as separate disciplines, but as one language.
The Polak Therapy method was developed through direct practice with clients across Europe and Asia — from CEOs navigating organizational breakdowns to individuals carrying ancestral trauma they couldn't name.
In the group, the field does what one person cannot do alone. Roles emerge. Systems reveal themselves. The body speaks before the mind can censor it. Kevin holds the space for what needs to surface — and knows how to work with whatever comes.
The body knows everything the mind has tried to forget. The work is learning to listen.
Group scenario therapy uses the live field of the group itself as the therapeutic instrument. People take roles, bodies respond, patterns emerge — and real change happens in the room.
Bert Hellinger's systemic method. Representatives stand in for family members, and the field reveals hidden loyalties, unacknowledged losses, and entanglements that run across generations. What cannot be spoken, the body shows.
The body does not lie in a group. Kevin uses somatic reading — posture, breath, tension, movement — to track what is happening beneath language. Physical intelligence becomes therapeutic intelligence.
Drawing on 30 years of movement therapy, Kevin works with the group's physical energy — directing, redirecting, releasing. The body finds what words cannot reach. Transformation happens through the body, not around it.
Character structures visible in the group. Alexander Lowen's approach to reading the body — how each person holds their history in their posture, their breath, their eyes. The group becomes a living laboratory of the self.
In the group, roles become visible immediately. Who rescues? Who persecutes? Who collapses into the victim? Kevin tracks these patterns in real time and works with them directly — with the full group as witness and resource.
Every session ends with integration. Not just for the protagonist — but for everyone in the circle. In group work, witnessing is itself therapeutic. What is seen in another is often what needs to be seen in the self.
Kevin works with groups of all sizes and contexts — from intimate therapeutic circles to large training workshops. Online and in-person. Europe and Asia.
